October Tweetup Action

We’ve had a lot of great Tweetups this month! Here’s a quick recap of several of the bigger ones, complete with photo links and attendee lists (where available).

Juneau Tweetup (Thu, Oct 22)

juneautweetup

@Valette hosted this first-ever Tweetup in Southeast Alaska and got a great turnout of Tweetup newbies (but old Twitter friends. We’re so excited Alaska Tweets could expand beyond southcentral Alaska! Huge thanks to @Valette and to all you cool people that came out on a Juneau October evening.

Photos are posted both in Valette’s photo stream and in the Alaska Tweets Photo Pool.

Roller Derby Tweetup & Post-Derby Tweetup (Sat, Oct 24)

rollergirl

Several of the Anchorage Twitter crew met up at the Rage City Rollergirls roller derby event to see the bone-crushing action, Action, ACTION! But it turns out the Rollergirls are a huge draw and the venue wasn’t nearly big enough to hold everyone. It was standing room only for most of us and the space didn’t lend itself to hanging out with your tweeps.

Still, it was an adventure and quite a folks turned out. Then a group of us gathered afterward at @pianchorage for drinks and snacks — including @cpennylane, who attended her very first Tweetup!

Lots of photos from the Roller Derby Tweetup are posted to the Alaska Tweets Photo Pool.

Library Tweetup (Wed, Oct 28)

Not to be outdone by mere Rollergirls, our very own @eareeve lit up the Tweetup circuit this week with a Library Tweetup. Amidst tea and cookies we got to meet some new friends while getting a private tour of the Z. J. Loussac Public Library in midtown Anchorage, including the impressive Alaska Collection.

Photos are posted in @jmproffitt’s Flickr account and to the Alaska Tweets Photo Pool.

ATTENDEES:

Thanks to everyone that came out to all these and other events. We hope you’ll be out with us again soon!

P.S. If anyone wants to get me a list from the @sethboyer Blue Fox karaoke birthday party (Fri, Oct 23), that would be awesome.
