Tasty Tweets Bake Sale coming together

Earlier this evening (Wed, Aug 12) @Valette and @yishrocks hosted a planning meeting for the upcoming Tasty Tweets Bake Sale in Anchorage on Saturday, August 29 — and what a great turnout we had! This looks to be a major social event and it’s got a heart: raising money to help @freeryan‘s family, following the loss of their historic home to a deliberately-set fire in their neighbor’s house.

More news is coming soon, but for now, set your calendars for home-baked goods and a good cause:

We have more than 13 bakers preparing to fire up the ovens, break out the sugar and create cookies, cakes and pies, plus we’ll have coffee from Kaladi Brothers (@kaladibrothers) — you name it, the sweets will be ready for consumption and carry-out. And the plans include some fun stuff, too.

The Twitter community is coming together to volunteer its time and money to help out a friend — one we’ve never even met in person. Please join us in a random act of kindness.
