Hello fellow Tweeters! With this post, please welcome the @Mayor_of_Twtr to the Alaska Tweets web site. She’ll be posting here from time to time and has already hosted her first Tweetup. This post reports on that fateful day…
So it all began with this:

I got a hair-brained idea to get Twitter involved. It was just too tempting to shock this stranger with a large number of tweeps at the scene.
I put the word out with the help of @jmproffitt to get folks to show. And show they did!
After an exhaustive catch of one of my dogs, who had wriggled free of his collar, it was off to the flag pole:

Not knowing what would happen our brave tweeps proceeded to the flagpole. There was talk of snipers and people being pretty pissed off because they knew if they got shot it would be in the leg and it would hurt.
Little did we suspect we’d meet Billy:

Billy was there to tell us the story of how he had found God. He was on a bad path with drugs and one day God showed him two signs: a figure cloaked in black and a golden cross. Billy chose the path of the cross and has decided to tell his story the best he knows how.
One thing all the tweeps could agree upon was that Billy has moxy. He had the gall to put his beliefs out there without knowing who he would meet or encounter.
All in all, we had a great group of folks who were believers in God and Jesus, a group who believed nothing of the sort and a group that was indifferent.
This just goes to show that social networking, although people have their different beliefs, can come together as one for something beautiful. Friendship. (Gah! I am SO cheesy!)
In attendance, (myself, not pictured)
@zac_in_ak (long time friend, found again on Twitter!)

@4ann2c (thank you for being my pup’s guardian on this journey!)

@jessejoseph (thanks for bringing friends!)

@akpolegirl (dear friend of mine and a fellow flash mob lover)

@matozoa (playing with my pups Major Bruce Lee (Brucey) and Sir Duke David Hasselhoff (Hoff)

and last but most certainly not least, @BigDaveGrizzly (who has a heart of gold and was so very, very well-behaved)

Thanks to all the tweeps who could come last minute to the Stalker Tweetup! There will be more stalker events and last-minute happenings, because that’s just how I roll!

This was absolutely fun! I love the puppers and want more of a chance to get to play with them, again. Love meeting people…and Billy was a great sport of it all. Positive vibes – no matter what the religious belief that walked up to that pole. So rad!
